How far is Phoenix from Tucson?
If you are driving from central Phoenix, it will take you about two hours to reach Tucson. Given the location of some of our properties west of central Phoenix, like The Cove Apartments, it may take you an extra 15 minutes or so.
What is the quickest route to take?
Our properties are conveniently located nearby major freeways and highways. To get to Tucson, you need only jump onto the I-10 East, which actually takes you south to Tucson before turning east. Sky Harbor also offers a shuttle service between Tucson and Phoenix if you’d like to make an even quicker trip.
What are some cool sites along the way?
If you have time to make a few pit stops along the way, or to try an alternative scenic route, we recommend the following:
- Casa Grande Valley National Monument: If you exit east onto Arizona 87 (after taking the I-10 East, then the 202 East), you will eventually come to Coolidge, where you will take a right turn. You will take this road south until you find the I-10 E again. This will allow you to pass by the Casa Grande National Monument, which is a wonderful stop if you are interested in the history of the Hohokam people. It is known for being one of Arizona’s largest and most complex prehistoric buildings, made up of 11 rooms spanned across four stories.
- Picacho Peak State Park: This stop offers three hiking trails with various levels of difficulty leading up to a unique-shaped summit. It is also neighbor to the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch at the base, which offers a petting zoo and other fun activities.
- Florence: As one of the oldest Anglo settlements in the state, this small town offers Pinal County Historical Museum, McFarland State Historic Park, Poston’s Butte and Box Canyon, just to name a few attractions. You will have plenty to do in Florence, which really brings home the feeling of being in a historic Arizona setting.
