Below are 9 of the best local breweries in Phoenix we recommend checking out.

Grand Avenue Brewing Company (1205 W Pierce St, Phoenix, AZ 85007):

Located near 15th Ave. and Roosevelt, this will be one of the newest local breweries in town. Slated to open at the end of 2017, this new spot will offer hand-crafted beer in an interesting and aesthetically pleasing 1940s-era warehouse, right in the heart Phoenix’s urban arts district. Their website should be up and running and their doors open for good drinks in no time.

8-bit Aleworks (1050 N Fairway Drive, Building F Suite 101, Avondale, AZ 85323):

This is the ultimate haven for gamers of all kinds. If you like video games, tabletop games, arcade cabinets and drinking good beer, this is a brewery worth visiting. The owners work to create a relaxed environment where visitors can comfortably mingle and meet new people over games, while getting loose and confident with artisanal brews made from natural ingredients. Did we mention the beers have some of the funnest names? Try The Hefe is a Lie, Ichabod Crane’s Nightmare, or The Mayan Chocolossus.

Mother Bunch Brewery (825 N 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85006):

If you want to get your brew on a little earlier in the day, stop by Mother Bunch Brewery, where you can throw back a nice cold one while enjoying a scrumptious brunch plate. The Phoenix Ale Brewery (3002 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85034):

Standing in an old warehouse east of Downtown Phoenix, this microbrewery shares a space with Sonoran Brewing and features tasting events, tours, and a taproom. In the taproom, you’ll find a really relaxing environment where you can sit with friends while sipping through a tour of the local brews, including beers from Sonoran Brewing. You can enjoy unfiltered ales while chowing down on a warm toasty panini, or enjoy your flight while learning interesting brewing facts on one of their scheduled tours. Check out their beer list.

Helton Brewing Company (2144 E Indian School Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016):

This Phoenix brewery offers cheese and meat boards that pair perfectly with an excellent selection of locally-crafted beers. The space itself is big and open and covered in wood walls and tables. You will sit in high yellow stools while you enjoy your beer, or mingle with friends and strangers while competing in one of their many bar games, including pool, shuffleboard, darts, and bags. What this place does right is bring two of the most beloved beverages under one roof. Cartel Coffee Lab, home to coffee lovers from around the valley, has newly opened their doors to beer connoisseurs, having recently released two new brews to their primarily coffee-focused menu. Stop by any of their locations to give Desert Pale Ale or Coffee Brown Ale a taste. We also recommend checking out their coffee menu online while you are at it.
