Phoenix Events – February 2017

There are plenty of things to do this February in Phoenix. The city will be filled with the sounds of music, humor and art. Here are some highlights – hopefully a few are close to home.

Concerts

  • Toby Keith: If you want to start of the month loud and proud, this is your chance! There’s nothing like a Toby Keith concert to get you hyped up for the month ahead. (6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Phoenix Open Bird’s Nest)

Comedy

  • David Spade: Just because it’s the month of love doesn’t mean you can’t start it with a laugh. Spade definitely will make it possible; so don’t miss out! (8 p.m. Feb. 2 at Talking Stick Resort)
  • George Lopez: Need a different kind of laugh? You’re sure to get one Latino style with Lopez in the building. (9:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at Celebrity Theatre)

Festivals

  • Arizona Strong Beer Festival: Music, food and lots and lots of beer. It doesn’t get better than that. And it’s a variety of craft beers so whatever taste is of your liking it probably will be there. (1-5 p.m. Feb. 11 at Steele Indian School Park)

The Arts

  • Ballet Arizona presents Romeo and Juliet: Looking for a romantic date with an air of elegance? Well, this is your chance. With Valentine’s in the air, what better time to watch the story of Romeo and Juliet unfold through the exquisite art of ballet. (Feb. 9 at Phoenix Symphony Hall)
  • Arizona Fine Art Expo: If you’re an art fanatic but don’t necessarily have the most open schedule, this is the art show for you. It’s available all month so you don’t have to worry as much about it interfering with your schedule. It includes all kinds of art, such as painting, sculptures and photography. (10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily)

Other

  • Drake vs. Kanye (Tribute Party): It’s not a concert but it promises to be just as fun-filled as one. The lineup includes original hits by both artists without remixes and mash-ups. This is definitely a good event to attend if you’re a fan of their music as it promises their hits without the chaos of a concert. (8:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at The Crescent Ballroom)
  • Bachata Addiction: If you’re looking to burn away the holiday weight, this might be your chance to do it. What better way to do it than dancing bachata? It’s definitely the fun and lively option. Plus, what better way to spend time with your Valentine than dancing the night away? (8:45 p.m. every Thursday at DeSoto Central Market)
